Defining Elegance Using Flipboard and AI
What I've Learned Since Defining Elegance with the Help of Flipboard and AI
Also, an invitation to a Messy Elegance Project conversation

This video introduces the essay Defining Elegance (with the help of AI and Flipboard)
From the Essay
Elegance is not locked in stone, not petrified. Things become more elegant (never perfectly elegant) and then become less elegant, perhaps frayed or out of style or beat up or becoming entangled or the situation changes completely. It’s not just fancy cars, buildings, interior design, or clothes. At its best its deeply human. It’s not perfect. It can be more than hard rock jewels, and more about the gems of integrated relationships, spirituality, ecology, and science - the ways processes work simply after the messiness has been wandered through, but also meaningfully.
Messy Elegance for me.....

Questions
As you can tell, this project is evolving, and I’d love you to be a part of it. I’d genuinely love to hear your thoughts:
- What connects with you and your experience in this exploration of elegance?
- What feels missing?
- Where have you run into what might be called “messy elegance” in ordinary life?
Please head over to the essay to kick in your thoughts about these questions, and to learn how I used Flipboard and AI to help me define elegance here.
I'd love to hear your thoughts.
*As with some of the thinking and organizational work behind this project, the images here and in the essay were developed in conversation with AI tools (ChatGPT/DALL·E), with final selection, editing, and use determined by the author.
But wait, there’s more!
Join Pat Connelly and Me for a Zoom Conversation
about the Messy Elegance Project on June 13th
When my friend Patricia Connelly invited me to talk about this Messy Elegance Project on a zoom session. I was thrilled she asked. It will be free and you are invited. All you have to do is sign up and join the meeting on June 13th. At the session, I’ll tee up the discussion by talking about this project, some ideas about messy elegance, and have opportunities for us to think about it and talk about this idea and practice as it relates to our own lives. We’ll learn together.
Pat is fellow haiku-er and author. From her bio: Musician, Haiku Prayers and photos and poems. Author of: Sacredness Surrounds us in Every Season". "Sacred Pauses" More about her here.
