Why I Chose This Photo

By Marc Christensen

I was captivated by this scene. First, the color of the mountains, the turbulent sky and the sheer beauty caught my eye. Next, for me, it implies a vastness to be explored...there's a gravel road or path leading off around a bend next to railroad tracks. Where do these lead? Does it matter or would it just be fun to plunge ahead? This photo was taken near the town of Bridge of Orchy, Scotland.

“The poor in spirit are by no means poor-spirited. They are persons who see so much to be, so much to do, such limitless reaches to life and goodness that they are profoundly conscious of their insufficiency and incompleteness.” ~Rufus Jones, The Inner Life , p. 19
