Introducing Profound Photos
by Michael Kroth

With this beautiful, evocative photograph by Marc Christensen, Profound Living introduces a new feature which we are calling Profound Photos. The idea is to feature original photography taken by people like Marc, which make a connection to profundity - profound living and learning. Different people will respond in different ways to ideas, memories, experiences, essays, music and, in this case, images and the intent here is to offer another portal into the vast depths of human experience.

This is our first photo. We plan for Wednesdays to be our photo day. Sometimes, like today, I will just select and post a picture for your reflection. Other times, the photographer will choose a photo personally and offer a few thoughts about how the photo relates, for them, to profundity.

Thanks go to Marc for being our first featured photographer, and for letting us share his work here.

“The poor in spirit are by no means poor-spirited. They are persons who see so much to be, so much to do, such limitless reaches to life and goodness that they are profoundly conscious of their insufficiency and incompleteness.” ~Rufus Jones, The Inner Life , p. 19
