Here is the latest for our Profound Picture Series, by Marc Christensen

Marc's Profound Photo for this month is "The Gull". As always, his picture and his description beautifully fit our series.

You can learn more about Marc on our Profound Pictures Contributor's tab. Marc is a regular contributor to this series, where the artist/photographer selects a photo they consider profound and then describes why, or simply lets the image speak for itself.

Why I Chose This Photo

By Marc Christensen

Here's a picture that both makes me smile and reflect at the same time. So, is this little gull thinking? Dejected? Hung over from too much tequila the night before? Napping? There's something about the body language that grabs my attention and I often find that among God's smaller creatures there is much to enjoy and ponder. This capture was made on a beach in Cancun, Mexico.

“The poor in spirit are by no means poor-spirited. They are persons who see so much to be, so much to do, such limitless reaches to life and goodness that they are profoundly conscious of their insufficiency and incompleteness.” ~Rufus Jones, The Inner Life , p. 19
