Framing The Moment: Haiku Conversations

Curator's Note: If you have been following Profound Living for a while, you know that Amy Hoppock, Davin Carr-Chellman, and I have been writing, sharing, and talking about our haikus for around two years now.  Well, we just wrote a book with a year's worth of those conversations.  It is called, Framing the Moment: Haiku Conversations.

Check out the video to see what we have to say about the whole process and how it changed us personally.  One thought I can share for sure - we had fun doing it!

We were so fortunate to have one of our favorite writers and retreat leaders, Judith Valente, write the foreword to the book.  Judith's book, The Art of Pausing: Meditations for the Overworked and Overwhelmed, written with Brother Paul Quenon and Michael Bever, was the inspiration for writing haikus, sharing them, and then forming a group to talk about them.    Judith's latest book is How to Be: A Monk and a Journalist Reflect on Living & Dying, Purpose & Prayer, Forgiveness & Friendship.

Judith has been a supporter and encourager throughout, and we could not be more grateful.

Framing the Moment: Haiku Conversations is now available on Amazon.  Check it out here.

Life is messy. We know that. But some people move through that mess with a surprising kind of grace.

“The poor in spirit are by no means poor-spirited. They are persons who see so much to be, so much to do, such limitless reaches to life and goodness that they are profoundly conscious of their insufficiency and incompleteness.” ~Rufus Jones, The Inner Life , p. 19
