The Children of Lir
Antonia (TJ) Cardella • September 24, 2019
[This is]...a piece of work I call the Children of Lir. It is a relatively sad Irish folk tale that seems to fit my current melancholy mood.
Curator's Note:
I had never heard of The Children of Lir
until TJ sent me this piece of art. (Isn't it beautiful?) TJ always takes me, through the magic in
her art or the ancient mystery from which her work draws, to places I've not been before. So I looked up The Children of Lir. You might find the story, and its relationship to Swan Lake, interesting as well. Here is one
source to read about the story
and here is
another (with lots of ads, I'm sorry to say).
